Profile-Poet
Sangeeta Gupta, is a highly acclaimed artist, bilingual poet and documentary film-maker. She served as a bureaucrat, an IRS Officer (1984 batch). After a successful career in the Ministry of Finance, she retired as chief commissioner of income tax (May 2018). She has also worked as Advisor (finance & administration) to Lalit Kala Akademi, National Akademi of Visual Arts (July 2019 to January 2020). She was a member of the Finance committee of Jawaharlal Nehru University from November 2018 to February 2022.
She has to her credit 36 solo exhibitions of paintings, 30 documentary films and 25 published books, She is a bilingual poet and has fourteen anthologies of poems in Hindi and six in English to her credit. 10 of her poetry books are translated in several languages. Her books of poems are translated in Greek, Mandarin, English, German, Bangla, Dogri, Tamil and Urdu.
